After last night’s 31-24 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, it was hard to come up with any positives from the game, or a reason why they played possibly the worst “Patriots game” in recent memory.
Backup Kelcie McCray filled in admirably while Chancellor missed four games with a pulled groin, but he didn’t make the type of game-changing plays that Chancellor produced Sunday night. Brady did not miss any time, although he admit he was sore after the game. “And with us two on the field, why not end it like that, you know what I’m saying?”
“I certainly will bet this is the highest handle we’ve had on a Sunday this season”, Vaccaro said. Sometimes you get the call. The no-call appeared to be correct. “Sometimes you get the call, sometimes you don’t”. “It is what it is – if it’s not a (pass interference) to the refs, it’s not a P.I”.
“I’m sore“, Brady acknowledged Monday on Westwood One. Vaccaro said straight bets were almost even on each side, but the bookmakers got the win because of more parlays and teasers on New England. Brady first would have had to get the Patriots a touchdown and then, from the two-yard line, get them into the end zone again with a two-point conversion. The offense moved the ball.
“The so-called experts, their predictions about us were wrong”.
Doug Baldwin caught three touchdown passes from Russell Wilson, including a 15-yarder for the final margin. They were: Field goal, field goal, touchdown, punt, touchdown, punt, field goal, field goal, touchdown.
The Patriots (7-2) just aren’t getting big plays on defense. “It was a phenomenal win”, said Wilson.
After the hard-fought game, the views from the two locker rooms were remarkably measured. Prosise made a big impression, looking like Brian Westbrook at times, avoiding tackles and catching passes to total 153 yards from scrimmage on 17 rushing attempts and seven catches.
To that point, New England had thrown 258 passes this season without an interception. But after Brady scrambled right he heaved one downfield into double coverage that was intercepted by DeShawn Snead.
“In practice (in the Boston area on Saturday), it ended the same way”, Chancellor said. The pass play failed, so the strategy nearly backfired. I know exactly what I feel. “We are entitled to our ground, and I think Kam played it as good as you can play it”. “That’s why they won”.
Cardinals 23, 49ers 20: In Glendale, Arizona, Chandler Catanzaro kicked a 34-yard field goal as time expired.
That Gronkowski was unable to corral a high throw on fourth down from the one-yard line on the final play of the game takes on a whole new meaning in light of this news.
Quarterback Russell Wilson was brilliant, guiding the Seahawks to scores on seven of their nine meaningful possessions.
Wilson and Brady dropped so many handsome throws into the hands of receivers throughout the game.
Malcolm Butler (21) and the rest of the Patriots defense struggled in their loss to the Seahawks. New England rookie CB/KR Cyrus Jones, inactive the past three games, dressed, with CB Eric Rowe inactive after a rough game before the bye.
Here’s how the Patriots graded out against the Seahawks on Sunday night. Even though he’s been shaky at times this season, he hasn’t been that bad that Belichick ever would have considered going for two to win it like Oakland’s Jack Del Rio did in New Orleans in the season opener.
Seattle took a commanding 31-24 lead after Julian Edelman fumbled the ball.
