Attorneys for Bobbi Kristina’s estate brought to the attention of the court, an interview Gordon did on the “Dr. Phil” show as evidence that he ignored a court order prior to Bobbi Kristina’s death.

The estate’s lawsuit accused Gordon of assault, battery and causing emotional distress, among other allegations. The medical examiner’s statement, which was released on what would have been Brown’s 23rd birthday, confirmed that she died from a mix of drugs, alcohol, and drowning.

The lawsuit sought $50m (£38m) in compensation, punitive damages and the return of Brown’s property, including a valuable ring.

Nick Gordon has failed to appear in court, not just once, but twice, though claimed he is not responsible for her death. She was found unresponsive in her bathtub in January 2015 and remained in a medically-induced coma until July 26. Gordon’s attorneys claimed he was reeling from having lost “the love of his life”.

Bobbi Kristina Brown’s estate hit Gordon with the civil suit in June 2015 to the tune of $10 million in punitive damages, according to the paperwork obtained by ABC News.

Ms Brown, the daughter of Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown, died in August 2015. “All I ever wanted was answers relating to who and what caused my daughter’s death“, he said. The combination caused pneumonia, which lead to her death.

McGraw said at the time said that Gordon appeared “high as a kite” during the talk.

The lawyer added, “It’s not a criminal case but it doesn’t have to be”.

According to court documents seen by Radar Online, Nick was told he needed to attend a hearing at Atlanta’s Fulton County Superior Court today.

“I didn’t get to go to my fiancee’s funeral”.

“You can’t ignore the court process, especially when you are accused of having engaged in this sort of horrific conduct”, Ware said in a phone interview, “You have to give account, and Mr. Gordon made a decision to thumb his nose at the court process and the court has finally said that he must pay”.
