Nokia Is Relaunching The 3310 Along With Three Phones At MWC

February 14 07:19 2017

Nokia is slated for a big comeback as new Android-powered smartphones are expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this month.

HMD Global may have already debuted the Android 7.0 Nougat Nokia 6 smartphone in China, but the device hasn’t reached other territories yet.

Nokia 6 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB of internal storage, microSD card support, a 16-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front-facing shooter, and a 3,000mAh battery.

In its first flash sale, the Nokia 6 smartphone reportedly went out of stock in a minute.

Another leak shows an invite for the launch event that will apparently occur before MWC, on February 22nd. For consumers across Europe, the phone is likely to retail at €249 (£211).

The next two devices are said to be the Nokia 5 and Nokia 3.

Nokia’s 3310 was a GSM mobile phone launched on 1 September, 2000 (the pre-smartphone era).

The Nokia P1 is expected to ship with an all-metal unibody design, a 5.3-inch display protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

Is that what I think it is?

At present, details are scant, but there are rumours suggesting the phone will debut around the US$60 mark.

The market offers plenty of alternatives for these three phones, which is why the new iteration of Nokia 3310 is the most exciting phone to be announced during the press event.

Launching at just €59 (approximately Rs 4,200), it’s expected to be a hot sell.

But it was phased out long ago – it’s so old it doesn’t even have a colour screen, and Nokia lost its market-leading position with the dawn of the iPhone and the smartphone era.
