Nor’easter, heavy rain expected on Mother’s Day weekend

We’re still going to see areas of “minor” flooding along tidal waterways, at the times of high tide. There may be some breaks, but it’s likely it’ll rain more often than not through sunrise, and even beyond. By Friday, the new couple will be close enough to give us a cool, cloudy day with a high in the upper 50s. Saturday and Sunday will feature mainly sunny days; highs Saturday in the upper 70s to lower 80s, with mid 80s for Sunday.

We’re tracking yet another stretch of nice, tranquil weather across Northeast Kansas and the timing couldn’t be any better.

With the storm spiraling away on Monday, there will be a lot of wind and a passing shower. There is a bright light at the end of this tunnel by Mother’s Day. The weather is looking dry and warmer. Temps should reach the mid to upper 60s, but the weather service says it will be quite windy with occasional gusts from the northwest above 25 miles per hour.

Monday looks quiet for most with rain chances in far western OK. Most places will finish with around 1 inch of rain, but there will be spots, like in areas from the Lakes Region south and east, that pick up plenty more. Temperatures will start out in the low 50s, but quickly climb.

With the steady onshore winds and developing coastal storm, tides will run higher but should remain at or just below flood stage. Windy. Highs in the low 60s.

Northeast to northwest wind gusts of 20 to 30 miles per hour are expected on Sunday. Saturday afternoon and evening will have some scattered showers in Lower Michigan.
