Han told Tracy that North Korea does not want a war, and insisted his government was only responding to US threats. CBS News’ Ben Tracy asked Han, who replied, “Of course”.
China, North Korea’s sole major ally and neighbour, which nevertheless opposes its weapons programme, has called for talks to defuse the crisis. “No one can become a victor”.
