Nvidia Makes The GeForce GTX 1080TI Official

The ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti should be the new high-end model from ASUS while the GTX 1080 Ti TURBO is a more budget-oriented graphics card. The GTX 1080 Ti, which CEO Jen-Hsun Huang presented at the conference, will have “35% more performance”.

Countless gamers have been waiting for NVIDIA to unleash the GTX 1080 Ti, and today is your day – NVIDIA have made it even more special, by making the new GTX 1080 Ti the best Ti card ever. The GeForce GTX 1080 has sat firm at its $600 selling price since launch, barring odd sales that shave $10 or $20 off, so this announcement will likely have a significant effect on real-world graphics card pricing.

The GTC 1080 Ti could launch as soon as next week. Even though it’s cheaper, the 1080 Ti reportedly 35% faster than the standard 1080 and surpasses the performance of the Titan X in terms of in-game performance, IGN reports.

The key difference, and what gives the 1080 Ti a slight edge over the Titan X, is its memory configuration. While it offers fewer ROPs and a reduced bus width, the GPU boost clock is higher and its memory runs faster, “at a staggering 11Gbp“.

All of which means buyers will get slightly above Titan X performance for around half the price – $699. The “Overclocked” GTX 1080 is equipped with 8GB of 11Gbps GDDR5X memory, while the GTX 1060 Overclocked comes with 6 GB of 9 GBPS GDDR5. The 2x airflow area and a seven-phase power design make this cooling implementation more efficient.

The GTX 1080 Ti will be available in markets from next week for a price worth of $700, which is right $500 down from that of Titan X!

According to a previous presentation given by Jonah Alben, senior VP of engineering, the new card features advanced equalization techniques, channel optimization, minimal electrical noise optimizations, jitter reductions. Prices, including those for the NVIDIA Founders Edition, start at $699.
