Obama offered to help Biden with son’s medical bills

Biden lost his son, Beau, to cancer previous year and according to the president he’s helped scientists get more help from congress in the fight against cancer.

US President Barack Obama has said that the United States should be the country to win a new global health race and find a cure for cancer “once and for all”.

“Obama got up and said, ‘Don’t sell that house”.

The vice president’s son beau, after diagnosed with stroke, served out his second term as Delaware’s attorney general. “Let’s do it, worse ways to spend our money that’s for sure”, said Thomas Swartwood of Dallas.

While announcing the initiative, Obama said that as he’s gone to the mat for everybody, on a number of issues in the last forty years, he has made a decision to put Joe in charge of Mission Control.

Biden, 73, recalled Obama’s proposal during an interview with CNN chief political analyst Gloria Borger.

Obama said it was time for a “moonshot” on the cure for cancer, time to strike the final blow against the disease that thus far has defied a cure.

“From my own personal experience, I’ve learned that research and therapies are on the cusp of incredible breakthroughs”, Biden wrote. “We all know someone who has had cancer or who is struggling to overcome it. These are our families, our friends and colleagues”, wrote Joe Biden. “And the goal of this initiative - this “Moonshot” - is to seize this moment”.

Before the speech yesterday, Biden laid out two priorities for the moonshot in a post on his Medium.com page: One was increasing public and private resources to fight cancer, the other a greater collaboration and sharing of information between researchers. “Promise me.’ I said, ‘I don’t think we’re going to have to anyway.’ He said, ‘promise me, ‘” Biden told CNN.

Biden’s plan is to increase funding for cancer research and to “break down the silos” so that researchers can better work together to “stop [cancer] in its tracks”.

Joe Biden ultimately did not sell the house.
