Packers Ron Wolf says Bears GM Ryan Pace has intestinal fortitude

“Going into tonight one of the goals was we had some options to acquire talent but also get some draft picks back”, Pace said.

“You’ve got to give credit where credit is due”.

As The Athletic‘s Jon Greenberg adroitly put it about Pace, “You want to play poker with a guy like that”. “And these are the moves you have to make”.

The Bears traded down to the 45th pick Friday night, where they took Ashland tight end Adam Shaheen.

“For sure, 100 percent on that”, he said. We’ll see what happens, but recent trades of this kind have not worked out. After all, they signed starter Mike Glennon last month after dumping Jay Cutler.

Mere moments after he was drafted, fans started digging up old tweets from the quarterback, including a couple dating back to 2015 that say things like “Hell yeah, Go Packers” and “Oh my Aaron Rodgers”. Hopefully he is not only apt to be a starting National Football League quarterback but hopefully, he gets the right coaching.

Trubisky said he’d defer to the veteran and avoid complications in the quarterback room. The comparison for me is always in free agency. “But unless it doesn’t come from the coaches, I know how to block that out”. So I’m sure we can talk about that a little bit.

“Mike’s been here working hard all the time, already developing leadership with his teammates”.

A one-year starter at the University of North Carolina, Trubisky was an All-Ohio selection and the 2012 Ohio Mr. Football Award victor after a standout career at Mentor High School.

The Bears will enter the final day with four picks: two in the fourth round and one each in the fifth and sixth rounds. Many experts felt that the Bears would address the need of help on defense.

“I hope everybody’s excited about it”, Pace said.

“They both know the quarterback position”, Hunt said of Reid and general manager John Dorsey. “Going through this process I told myself I wasn’t going to think anything so whatever ends up happening that’s what was meant to be. I’m very excited to learn from these coaches and other quarterbacks and players”.

On one hand, this suggests that the Bears only decided last minute that Trubisky was worthwhile and, thus, informed Fox when they chose to make the trade. “It was all a complete mystery and a huge surprise”. It was a surprising move, particularly since San Francisco general manager John Lynch was ready to take Stanford defensive lineman Solomon Thomas at No. 2 anyway. It takes intestinal fortitude and he displayed that.

Pace isn’t anxious about it. It’s really bad between Pace and Fox.
