CBS News received a bulletin from Israel’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, calling its coverage of the murderous attack in Yerushalayim’s Old City “horrible” and “unparalleled chutzpah”. One showed an ID, but a second drew a gun and began shooting. At least 154 Palestinians have died from Israeli fire, including 109 Israel said were attackers.

“As one was producing identification his accomplices… started firing and stabbing and managed to wound two female officers”, a police statement said.

The two officers, both 20 years old, were transferred to the hospital in critical condition. Israel has struggled to contain the violence, despite sending troops to secure cities, expanding police powers and toughening punishments for attackers.

The attack left one Israeli killed and another injured, while Israeli media reported that a third Israeli was accidentally shot at the scene by Israeli Border Police and later succumbed to their wounds.

The Israeli army demolished many tunnels running between the Strip and Israel, during the conflict that erupted in the summer of 2014.

A Hamas militant was found dead on Tuesday night in a tunnel that suddenly collapsed southwest of Gaza city, the group and medics said.

At the same time, 164 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces, most of which the army claims were carrying out attacks, and others during clashes and demonstrations.
