Some Carolina Panthers celebrate from the bench during the second half the NFL football NFC Championship game against the Arizona Cardinals, Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, in Charlotte, N.C.
ABC15 viewer Britton Moore says son Brody wrote the letter in school on Friday.
Palmer committed six turnovers by himself, while Arizona committed seven as a team. Moore said in a message.
Peyton Manning’s Denver Broncos will face Cam Newton’s Carolina Panthers in the 50th Super Bowl – which many expect to be the final game of Manning’s career.
When Newton threw an interception, Ted Ginn spotted Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson a 10-yard head start, but prevented a pick-six by chasing him down from behind.
Panthers wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery said Ginn didn’t talk much about retribution during the week, but he could tell his buddy was ready to play.
The Cardinals had given up only one rushing touchdown to a quarterback all season.
But Newton does things his own way, no matter what Tennessee Mom might think. Newton likely had always felt that way, but last summer in Spartanburg was his first time really expressing it. Most folks figure his fourth Super Sunday will be the last time he dons a helmet.
But if there was any question before whether this was Newton’s team, there isn’t anymore. In a season that began with bad news regarding Kelvin Benjamin’s torn ACL, Carolina’s other options stepped up in a major way.
But Newton never missed a beat.
He caught just 14 passes for 190 yards and no touchdowns. The Broncos still stand in his way, but the way the Panthers played on Sunday night, the entire AFC Pro Bowl team might be an underdog.
Super Bowl 50 now has its contestants.
DISTRESSING POSTSEASON: After going 13-3 and looking like the league’s most balanced team, the Cardinals played inconsistently in outlasting the Packers in overtime in the divisional round.
BIG-PLAY DEFENSE: Denver was practically overwhelming defensively in edging the Patriots 18-16 for the AFC crown.
