Marco Rubio, R-Fla., has received the support of a former governor of his own.
His Rubio endorsement comes less than a week before the Iowa caucuses; polls in the state show Rubio in third place, behind Donald Trump and Cruz.
Pataki was a candidate for the Republican nomination for president, but dropped out just before the end of 2015.
“Americans feel divided because in Obama, Trump and Clinton we have had leading figures who exploit division for political gain”.
“Donald Trump is dividing us”, Pataki said. Ted Cruz in the crucial, first-in-the-nation state of Iowa. “So, I am not endorsing, but I do want to introduce and welcome as many folks to the state of Iowa as possible”.
It’s unlikely that Pataki’s endorsement will give Rubio much of a boost in Iowa, where conservative activists dominate.
“I’m going to trust that he knows what he’s doing”, state Rep. John Wills, who supports Rubio, said after his campaign stop at the Christian Dordt College in GOP-rich Sioux Center. “And those are the boots that Marco Rubio understands”.
“He’s the best candidate in terms of handling national security challenges because of his service on the intelligence committee, the foreign relations committee, a very good background on national security matters as well as domestic issues”, Kyl said.
Rubio is also getting organizational help from an unconventional source. “They are going to be out and pounding the ground, and hopefully you will be able to shake their hands and ask them questions”, Ernst says.
She had but one nice pair of shoes, Rubio told those gathered, which her parents would wrap in bread bags when it rained to prevent them from being ruined.
As for the reason why he doesn’t like Marco Rubio, well, it’s definitely surprising: his looks.
