Pence Forging Ahead in Awkward Relationship With Trump

Rob Portman says he’ll be voting for Mike Pence for president, in light of vulgar comments from Republican candidate Donald Trump.

“With Donald Trump as president, we’ll have a president of the United States who respects all the American people”, Pence said as news of Trump’s comments was breaking.

Trump issued a video statement on his Twitter account late Friday evening in response to the footage, which shows him bragging to former Access Hollywood host Billy Bush about forcibly kissing and groping women.

Almost 24 hours after tape of Donald Trump bragging about sexually assaulting women surfaced, vice presidential candidate Mike Pence and Melania Trump has issued statements in response.

Pence canceled his appearance at a Wisconsin rally Saturday with House Speaker Paul Ryan.

Trump said Clinton was “so bad” that it made competing against the Democratic nominee easier.

“I honestly believe a great day is coming on November 8”, said Pence to a crowd in Newton, Iowa Tuesday.

“I just can’t imagine that undecided voters as part of this town hall will not want to hear him explain why he thought that was acceptable behavior”, Kaine said. “I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture'”.

“Donald Trump last night showed that he is a big man”, he added.

Pence, however, made no mention of Trump’s weird remarks at the debate the previous night that appeared to, once again, expose divisions between the two running mates.

And despite the torrent of accounts from women reporting sexual advances or indecency by the nominee over the decades, Pence, again, on Friday tried to connect the story of his upbringing to Trump’s.

“They are, in fact, putting party over country by either their silence or their 100 percent full support of Donald Trump“, Zody said. Swanson said Pence has addressed the video “in the best way he can”, and she’s ready for the campaign to move on.

After a disastrous couple of weeks for the Trump campaign, many Republicans have been publicly or not so publicly wishing that Pence could top the ticket instead of Trump. However, he tweeted on Sunday night, “Congrats to my running mate @realDonaldTrump on a big debate win!” After his speech on Monday, McConnell ignored a question from a reporter asking if he was advising Republican Senate candidates to disavow Trump.

“It’s been an interesting few days”, Pence said.
