Pence: I never considered leaving Trump ticket

October 16 23:03 2016

Pence on Saturday said he does not “condone” Trump’s remarks and “cannot defend them” but is “grateful that he has expressed remorse and apologised”.

Rob Portman is revoking his support for Donald Trump and says he will instead back Trump’s running mate Mike Pence for president. “I urged him to show his heart to the American people on Sunday night”.

Trump’s comments were made in a 2005 video obtained and released Friday by The Washington Post and NBC News.

Republicans demand Trump go Trump, almost even in polls with Democrat Hillary Clinton by the first presidential debate before falling well-back since, was scheduled to appear with House Speaker Paul Ryan today at a rally in Wisconsin, a long-awaited event meant to heal the rift between the two.

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul called Trump’s comments “offensive and unacceptable” – but a spokesman did not respond when asked if Paul was still going to vote for Trump.

“I’m sure he’s horrified”, said Mike Murphy, an IN public relations strategist who’s known Pence for more than two decades.

Trump said at the beginning of the 90-minute showdown with Clinton: “I apologize to my family”.

The Republican vice presidential nominee was slated to hold a town hall meeting Monday afternoon in downtown Charlotte, followed by an evening rally in Fletcher, just outside Asheville.

Portman, a Terrace Park Republican, said he continues to believe “our country can not afford a Hillary Clinton presidency”.

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign on Sunday appeared to be collapsing like a pack of cards, with many top Republican leaders abandoning him a day after his lewd remarks about women surfaced but the controversial billionaire remained defiant and vowed to fight on.

Former mayor Rudy Giuliani said Trump wouldn’t hesitate to talk about “the women that Bill Clinton raped, sexually abused and attacked”.

While more than 30 former elected Republican congressmen released a letter denouncing Trump as “manifestly unqualified to be president” this week, none of the controversial statements made by the former “Apprentice” star have caused current Republican office holders to reconsider their support – until now.

Pence has been silent on the release of the 12-year-old recording, in which Trump describes his own aggressive treatment of women. You know what I mean? “He was not my choice but as a past nominee, I thought it important I respect the fact that Donald Trump won a majority of the delegates by the rules our party set”.

“He’s showing up, he’s as prepared as as he’s ever been and he’s all ready for the debate tonight and he’s obviously, you know, feels very bad about what he said, he’s apologized for it and he’ll probably do it again”. She said in a statement that she “cannot vote for him”, adding that “for the good of the party, and the country, he should step aside“.
