Peyton Manning will start for the Broncos in the playoffs

Still, it seems that Kubiak prefers Manning’s leadership and 17 seasons of experience to Osweiler’s flashes of brilliance mixed with occasional inconsistency. At the end of the day, I just care about this football team and this football team winning games. I also know that Brock will be ready to play.

Manning was certainly sore Monday.

Manning said that his left foot is fine and he’s even refreshed after taking almost two months off.

Nor was he concerned about Osweiler’s confidence being churned.

As GM John Elway once said, “I like getting Hall of Fame players with chips on their shoulders”.

“We think the world of Brock”, Kubiak said. We know Michael is a young player. He is due $2 million if he plays 70 percent of the AFC championship and leads the Broncos to victory.

The regular season ended with a three-way tie between the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals, all of whom went 12-4. He felt like putting Tyler in was a good move for us as a football team. Just look at the Oakland Raiders game where Khalil Mack nearly single-handedly was able to come in and take over the second half of the game. “It’s taken all of us all year long”.

After his gut told him to make the switch at quarterback on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers, there was no way he could go back. Kubiak said he’s not concerned that benching him will be detrimental to their efforts to re-sign Osweiler nor is he anxious he’ll crater now that he’s been benched.

Kubiak says the Broncos opponent, which won’t be known until the Wild Card round is over, won’t factor into the decision.
