Pi Plans to Make the iPhone’s Wireless Charging Contactless

September 19 16:40 2017

Apple’s iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus were both made available to pre-order over the weekend and are expected to hit stores this Friday.

A new charging technology called Pi is planning to offer a wireless charging and it is developed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduates.

The device uses the same Qi charging technology – based on resonant inductive coupling – incorporated into Apple and other wireless charging devices. The iPhones were launched on September 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater.

“This is iPhone Ten – it is the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone”. All the company’s phones from the last few years will now cost you $20 extra if you need a screen replacement.

A single phone will be charged quickly while more devices will slow down the charging speed slightly. That’s the same price for the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, too.

The feature may quickly become a thing of the past, but if you have small hands, fear not – it may still be possible to use the iPhone X with one hand. Instead of Touch ID fingerprint, this phone has Face ID.

As Apple boasted when unveiling its 64-bit, six-core A11 Bionic, the new SoC would blow away the performance of the A10, which powers the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus feature a Retina HD display and improved water resistance, with True Tone displays previously only seen on the iPad Pro. While it was largely downplayed at the keynote presentation, this is a major area of growth for Apple in the future. The Verge’s Ashley Carman claimed that Apple’s 10th year anniversary smartphone has an expensive price.

Apple also unveiled an updated smartwatch and an upgraded streaming video system for 4K high-definition television. We don’t know what Apple is planning to do for the upcoming iPhone X, which starts at $999 for a 64GB model.

Apple will be taking pre-orders for the iPhone X from 6.01pm on Friday 27 October.

The iPhone X doesn’t have a home button, which means some widely used features will be eliminated.

The fact that the iPhone 8 is still in stock ahead of its September 22 launch shows that Apple’s strategy may not be working as well as they thought it would.
