Police make 2 more arrests over Manchester bombing

A total of eight men have been taken into custody in the U.K.in connection with the attack. Among the victims were an 8-year-old girl named Saffie Rose Roussos, a student at Tarleton Community Primary School in Manchester; and 18-year-old Georgina Callander, a second year student at Runshaw College in Lancashire. Islamic State on Wednesday claimed responsibility behind the attack.

A tiny circuit board and a red wire poking from one end of it could have been part of a remote control or timer system, and suggested a far higher level of sophistication than the simple thumb switches and light bulbs used in the 7/7 attacks.

U.S. officials told CNN this week that it is likely Salman Abedi received some ISIS training by traveling to Syria in the months before the bombing, according to information gathered in the preliminary investigation.

The leaks make matters worse for British authorities who, as a result of the investigation into the bombing, are under pressure to prevent yet another attack they believe is imminent. She said she hopes it never happens again but it did again when the pictures were published.

Police arrested two more people and were on Thursday searching a new site in Manchester suspected of links to the bombing that killed 22 people at a pop concert, as British authorities complained bitterly about investigation leaks by US officials.

Manchester’s police chief said on Wednesday Abedi was part of a network, and media have reported that authorities suspect he received help constructing the bomb and planning the attack.

US President Donald Trump threatened to prosecute those responsible for the “deeply troubling” security breach, which has strained the close relationship between Washington and London.

A British official told The Associated Press on Thursday that police in Manchester have made a decision to stop sharing information about their bombing investigation with the US until they get a guarantee that there will be no more leaks to the media. British police investigating the Manchester Arena bombing arrested a ninth man while continuing to search addresses associated with the bomber.

British Security Minister Ben Wallace told BBC Radio Friday that United Kingdom police are confident of “rolling up” the network of militants responsible for the Manchester attack.

Thursday morning Greater Manchester British Police sent out a tweet saying officers were responding to an incident on Linby Street in the Hulme area of Manchester.
