Thursday morning, the temperature fell to a record low of 13 degrees, breaking the 18-degree mark set in 1899. Also, tulips might be a little behind schedule with Festival time upon us.
Highs in the teens, twenties and thirties today with many places seeing overnight lows dropping to the single digits. Highs will get well into the 50s. Communities toward Emporia and Burlington may actually peak between 67-72 degrees by late afternoon. The wind has been fast out of the west around 20-30 miles per hour.
The sun and warmth doesn’t last. The snow and below-freezing temperatures caused treacherous driving conditions throughout the day.
The weather will be springlike today, but there is an inch or so of snow possible on Friday in Wyandotte County.
The temperature tonight will drop to about 25 degrees, and Friday could bring snow and rain.
As of now, it appears precipitation will be mostly rain south and east of Interstate 95 (the Philly and metro areas) and all snow here in the Lehigh Valley.
