Medina was involved in an argument on 31 January 2015 with Joshua Sutter, 36, at their shared home in Palmdale, California. The two men were reportedly arguing about Medina’s girlfriend.
But authorities continued investigating the 38-year-old actor and the day he stabbed housemate Josh Sutter multiple times in the midst of a heated argument over his girlfriend. Prosecutors planned to ask that he be held on $1 million bail.
Following the fatal confrontation Medina called the 911 emergency number and remained at the scene until sheriff’s deputies arrived.
Former “Power Rangers” star Ricardo Medina Jr. has been charged for the murder of his roommate. He was released days later, as the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office claimed a more thorough investigation was necessary before making an official charge. Lester did not think Medina had a criminal history prior to the arrest, though he hasn’t spoken to his client since the incident a year ago.
Power Rangers actor Ricardo Medina Jr. could serve 26 years in prison if convicted, but our childhood memories are imprisoned for life. I’m very happy to be out of jail and my heart goes out to the Sutter family.
Medina played the Red Wild Force Ranger in the Fox Kids/ABC Kids series around 2002 and again in 2012. He would return to the franchise in 2011, playing Deker in 24 episodes of “Power Rangers Samurai“.
