Pro-Ted Cruz robocall slams Donald Trump on the Confederate flag

February 19 22:05 2016

In June, before the flag was taken down, Cruz said it was up to South Carolinians to decide its fate.

“People like Donald Trump are always butting their noses into other people’s business”, the voice on the robocall said.

Back in South Carolina, Trump appeared to hold a commanding lead less than 24 hours before voting began. The big question, as Noah Bierman explains in his summary of the SC race, is who comes in second – Sen.

Another rival wasn’t so ready Friday to concede anything to Trump.

Trump and Cruz are now sitting near the top of the six-way GOP field in the state. We don’t have to go vote.

SC is the last important event before the Super Tuesday, scheduled on March 11, when several states will hold primary elections.

Confronted with this contradiction at a SC town hall, Trump said he didn’t remember making the comment but admitted, “I could have said that….”

There are various rooms at the Cruz headquarters filled with telephones and tables. Democrats in the state will pick their favorite candidate a week later, on February 27. He even put it on a baseball cap. Her self-professed mission as governor is that while the state faces great challenges, it also is a world of opportunity and that with a renewed commitment to the principles that have made America great, the state can be transformed.

But after a disastrous GOP debate where Chris Christie essentially left the normally cool and eloquent Rubio stammering, followed by a fifth-place finish in the New Hampshire primary, the SC vote on Saturday has become critical for the Florida lawmaker. When asked about Trump’s call to build a massive wall on the U.S.-Mexican border, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church said those who seek to build walls instead of bridges are not Christian.

“I don’t think there’s anything personal about it from Jeb’s side”, said Jim Dyke, Bush’s campaign chief in SC. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio nips at Cruz’s heels at 15.7 percent, but Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush aren’t too far behind.

In seeking a repeat of his easy win in last week’s New Hampshire primary, Trump noted that he led virtually every voter demographic there: “Rich-poor, fat-thin, tall-short”, as well as more traditional categories. More importantly, however, a Trump win would also make it hard for critics within the party to argue that they have a viable means to stop him, according to The Hill.

But the majority of posters on Haley’s Facebook page are not in agreement with her support to Rubio, or for spending time to campaign for a national candidate, for that matter.
