A new rumor has surfaced that suggests more Xbox One exclusives are heading towards the Windows platform.
If you have been following us closely, you may have noticed the abundance of gaming-related news from Microsoft as of late. On Feb. 12, he wrote that his issue was the nature how “Quantum Break” was announced, implying that the announcement about the game going to Windows 10 was late. It remains to be seen if they do the same thing with their first-party games but for third-party ones releasing on multiple platforms seems to be the best way to go to reduce financial risk.
Both the Microsoft Xbox One and the Sony PlayStation 4 launched in the November of 2013. In fact, the new Windows 10 operating system nearly entirely exists to be a funnel towards Microsoft’s subscription services. We already know that Sea of Thieves, ReCore, and Fable Legends are, but it won’t end there.
Greenberg assured fans that Microsoft will continue to release Xbox One exclusives, and bringing “Quantum Break” to the PC is a way to improve the gaming network. All the while, it’s able to offer its own easy-to-use console for those that don’t want to invest a lot of money in a Windows PC. This not only increases PS4 sales but reduces the appeal of Xbox One to many potential buyers. Now, Microsoft is trying to backtrack by promising real game exclusives for its Xbox One users.
Like many games in the past that eventually made their way to Windows, both rumored games are strong contenders, but specifically, Gears of War 4 makes a ton of sense. Video game consoles are popular because there’s less to setup and maintain.
Microsoft have also confirmed that they will be releasing games when they are ready, rather than in big monthly updates. “We always want to hear people’s feedback, we’re always listening”.
Forza Motorsport has always been an Xbox exclusive from the start. That’s the same show it revealed details of Xbox on Windows to gamers previous year.
