Huawei’s 10-inch MediaPad M2 features four speakers, two for bass and two for treble on the top and bottom edges of the device. While there’s no word on availability just yet, it looks as though the M2 10.1 should be launching later on this year, and Huawei should have more to share with us soon. The Premium Edition will also feature a stylus for true pen input, with 2,048 pressure-sensitive points for accurate writing and drawing.
Huawei partners with Harmon/Kardon for a new tablet. The Chinese company at the launch touted that it partnered with Harman Kardon for audio on the tablet. The device is powered by the Kirin 930 octa-core processor and houses 2 or 3GB of RAM and either 16 or 64GB of storage depending on the edition purchased.
Huawei has retained the same 1,920 x 1,200 resolution display featured on the eight-inch model, but equipped it with larger sensors on the rear and front cameras, which are respectively 13 megapixels and five megapixels. My colleague Vlad Savov put it best in his coverage of Huawei’s live event earlier today: The tablet can be as technologically advanced as you like, but it’s an Android tablet, and no one should get excited until the software catches up with the hardware. The Huawei MediaPad M2 10.0 Wi-Fi with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage has been priced at $349 (roughly Rs. 23,250) while the Huawei MediaPad M2 10.0 LTE model with similar configurations will come at $399 (roughly Rs. 26,650). Also on offer is 16GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
The Huawei GX8 has been available globally since September 2015, but it’ll be making its way to the U.S. for the first time in Q1 2016. It is also compatible with the brand’s proprietary stylus, the M-Pen.
