Rampaging Golden State Warriors beat Phoenix Suns to return to winning ways

December 27 07:33 2015

The Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors square off Friday night at the Oracle Arena.

The entire team has talked about Carter-Williams dunk, stare and smirk at the Warriors’ bench in Milwaukee last week, when the Bucks snapped Golden State’s 28-game winning streak. Curry then got fouled on a 3-pointer and made all three free throws to tie the game at 100 at the midpoint of the quarter. Green’s 8-0 run to pulled the Warriors within three with 6:38 remaining, and Stephen Curry closed the gap and set up the Warriors for the win. They get a chance for revenge in their next game as the Milwaukee Bucks come to town on Friday, five days after having their season-opening streak stopped.

Meanwhile, the Bucks held Curry scoreless in the quarter and limited the Warriors to one 3-pointer in seven attempts in the period en route to building the 12-point halftime cushion.

Before NBA fans tune in to see how badly the Warriors beat the Bucks, the best matchup of the night is arguably in San Antonio.

The Warriors swept both games in each of the past two seasons, but took a 108-95 loss on December 12 at Milwaukee. And it concludes as the Warriors’ smart, unselfish ball movement, punches through whatever weak spots are found in the opposition – be they backdoor cuts or weakside threes.

Green didn’t go into detail about the incident, but said, “No man is going to touch my head”, according to Yahoo!

Klay Thompson agreed the rematch with the Bucks was “going to be fun”. Mayo is simply saying that Green and the Warriors shouldn’t be mad when an opposing team celebrates against them.

The Milwaukee Bucks could use a victory after losing six of their last nine games.

Carter-Williams, who drew the ire of the Warriors on Saturday with his look toward the bench after a last-minute dunk, tallied 13 points in the first quarter while Curry struggled on defense.

The Golden State Warriors have been playing historically good basketball, and the way in which they do so is a thing of beauty. Center Greg Monroe, their big free-agent acquisition this summer, sustained a mild knee injury earlier this week that forced him to miss the last two games and could keep him out of action.

“That’s one of (Green’s) roles for this team, and I think every team needs at least one guy like that”, Walton said. “The effort was extremely high, but we just could not make the plays when we needed to”. Granted, our guys were probably exhausted from the trip and the grind of the season, but it wasn’t just us missing shots.

A 43 point-game from Bulls guard Jimmy Butler wasn’t enough to get them across the line as the Pistons’ Andre Drummond dominated the paint in a Herculean 55-minutes that saw the league rebounds leader score 33 points and pull down 21 rebounds, without usual back-up Aron Baynes. Like, the kind of zeal that leaves multiple superstars sneering about a mediocre player on a mediocre team enjoying a meaningless basket in a relatively meaningless game.
