“To play the program, which is Duke, the standard for college basketball, the first half we probably tried to do a little too much individually, became a little bit unhinged, we’re still there and had chances to be even closer at the half”, URI coach Dan Hurley said.
The Tigers, on the other hand, couldn’t make a sizeable lead stand up. URI knows it can hang tough and learned a lot about what it will take to get over the hump the next time they see an upper-echelon team.

In the meantime, Amile Jefferson appears to be the beneficiary of the majority of the minutes that have been left available, as Duke essentially elected to play small against Penn State. Penn State kept clawing, but just couldn’t make a sustained run to really put pressure on Duke.
