Ranked Lydia Ko takes 1-shot lead at Women’s PGA

World number one Lydia Ko leads by one shot going into the final round of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship as she looks to secure a third consecutive major title. Only three players were under par even as Sahalee played easier following overnight rain. Ariya Jutanugarn, the victor of her past three tournaments, shot a 68, leaving her even par along with Amy Yang (66), Chella Choi (69) and Atlantic City victor Anna Nordqvist (69).

To this day, Piller said if she could have advanced as far in volleyball as she has in golf, the choice wouldn’t be hard. “I hung in there”. “On the back nine I just couldn’t get a rhythm with the swing and I missed a lot of shots to the right, what I have been doing in the last month or so”, Park said. “I didn’t say it this week, but she ends up getting it”. “Being able to see them after the round, waiting for me after the round…it was just great”.

The 19-year-old, who started the third round on Sunday (NZ time) in a tie for third at one-under par, one shot off the pace, carded a one-under par 70 on moving day to get to two-under for the week and hold a one-shot lead after 54 holes.

Having a share of the lead bodes well for Henderson. She is one of the few professional golfers who majored in math at college.

Two are tied at two under par after shooting rounds of 69 on Thursday: In-Kyung Kim and Christina Kim.

That’s a big deal, but Ko didn’t build it up that way on Saturday.

“I’ve got to just try my best and have fun”.

“Going into Evian and ANA I just had very calm thoughts, very positive thoughts, to the final round”, she said after the third round. The tournament began as the LPGA Championship in 1955, making it the second-oldest major behind the U.S. Women’s Open….

“I feel like I’m in really good position”. Brooke Henderson, the first-round leader after a 67, was in the afternoon group. After a front nine of 1-over 37, Henderson bogeyed the par-4 10th, but hung onto the lead by one.

Facing a stiff, flag-flapping wind, she sent a tee shot into the right rough at No. 9.

At age 27, Park is the youngest player to qualify for the Hall of Fame.

After playing the first 11 holes in 2 over with two birdies and four bogeys, Langer birdied the par-4 12th to get back to even par for the tournament. But then she made back-to-back bogeys on the fourth and fifth holes. On Friday, just four players shot sub-par rounds. Piller sank a 10-foot par putt on the 18th hole of her singles match to keep America’s rally from being extinguished. With an Ace on the lucky 13 hole picked up a new Kia K900 vehicle (which she turned around and gave her caddie/sister) and some excellent work with her flat stick Henderson slept on the solo lead at Sahalee. “I’m more comfortable knowing if I miss a green I can still make par”.

Second-round co-leaders Henderson and Lee each shot 73, meaning only three players are under par. She has finished in the top 10 six times this year, including a second-place finish at home in Texas when she was overtaken on the final day.
