Record-high temperature reached in Central Park

On Wednesday afternoon, the city hit 71 degrees at Logan Airport, smashing the previous high for February 21, 63 degrees, which had been set back in 1906.

Tuesday was the warmest Cincinnati day ever recorded, officials with the National Weather Service said. On Tuesday, the temperature reached 67 in Central Park, just short of the all-time high of 69 set in 1939, but records were set in other spots.

Since there are no rains in the region there has been constantly witnessing dry and warm weather condition for past two months.The maximum temperatures have been settling few notches beyond the normal.

Forecasters are predicting it’ll hit near 70 degrees, but some fog in the morning could affect how quickly things warm up and how high the temperature gets overall.

Overnight temperatures through the week are not expected to dip below 40 degrees. There’s a slight chance of light rain, according to the National Weather Service.

The 88-year-old temperature record for February 21 was broken roughly two hours before that.

Unseasonably warm weather is expected to continue through the end of the work week, meteorologists said Tuesday. “Though Friday will be the most hard day to get to a record high”. A cold front is expected to move into the area this afternoon, landing in the Lehigh Valley after sunset and bringing along some rain.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Lingering rain showers and cool temperatures develop, with a low of 55 degrees.

MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear skies and chilly temperatures develop, with an overnight low temperature of 35 degrees. Highs in the 50s are forecast for both days. The upper ridge will hold across the Deep South, meaning highs around 80 degrees each afternoon.
