An expert on the Israeli affairs, Antoine Shalhat, has ruled out that Israel is likely to launch a new war on the Gaza Strip, at least in the foreseeable future, as he said. Al-Qassam Brigades have even showcased some of their capabilities in reports and documentaries on their website and on TV stations such as Al Jazeera and Al Mayadeen, revealing the fighters’ ability to directly target Israeli soldiers.

As for Israel, Shalhat noted: “The situation these days is not ideal for a new [Israeli] war on Gaza; Israel has little justification for such a move”.

Hamas movement had slammed the Egyptian army’s policy of pumping salty seawater into the tunnels and underneath the borderline area.

This is no secret to the outside world, but it is a potential source of instability inside Egypt, where the Arab world’s hatred of Israel is widely shared.
