In Britain’s third Islamist attack in as many months, three men on Saturday rammed a van into pedestrians on London Bridge before running into the Borough Market area, where they slit throats and stabbed people indiscriminately.

Police said it is not yet known how Butt knew Redouane, 30, who was believed to have been carrying an Irish-issued ID when he was shot dead by police.
The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the brazen attack that started on London Bridge, then continued in the streets surrounding Borough Market. The three men also wore fake suicide vests.
The country’s official terror threat level had been set at “critical” in the days after the Manchester concert bombing on May 22 that killed 22 people – reflecting a judgment that an attack might be imminent because accomplices with similar bombs might be on the loose.
The arrests were made at a pair of locations in the London suburb of Barking.
Christine Archibald, a 30-year-old Canadian who had moved to Europe to be with her fiance, was the first of those who died to be named. One of the properties was believed to be the home of one of the attackers.
Another 36 men and women are now in hospital, 21 of whom are in a critical condition, according to emergency services.
In the documentary aired on Channel 4 and directed by Jamie Roberts, Butt is shown praying in a London park and having an altercation with British police personnel.
White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said Monday that Trump was not “picking a fight with the mayor of London at all”.

The information came to light as Scotland yard chief, Cressida Dick said Britain had been hit by an “unprecedented” wave of terror attacks and said there would have to be a review of resources.
