Roman Reigns earned the right to face universal champion Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, as he outlasted six other Superstars inside the Elimination Chamber – which is regarded as the WWE’s most destructive structure. And what a match it would turn out to be for Raw’s women’s division.
Absolution was eliminated first and Sasha Banks and Bayley forged an alliance to take on Bliss.
“I think Brock Lesnar does whatever Brock Lesnar wants to do”, he said.
Elsewhere, Matt Hardy beat Bray Wyatt, while Sheamus and Cesaro retained their tag-team titles against Apollo and Titus O’Neil.
If her arrival at Elimination Chamber is any indication, that seems all but confirmed.
Elsewhere, Asuka toppled Nia Jax in their match but paid the price for it thanks to a post-match beat-down.
Obviously this was all scripted but it also set up what will likely be Rousey’s match at WrestleMania 34 on April 8. She did threaten to rip McMahon’s arm out of its socket if she refused to apologize for slapping her, but McMahon quickly said she was sorry.
Angle’s reasoning included Triple H and McMahon still being a bit salty over what took place at WrestleMania 31 with Rousey and The Rock where the power couple was embarrassed in the middle of the ring. Triple H went to give Rousey a hug to defuse a situation but she suplexed him through the table in shocking fashion.
With his fourth WrestleMania main event on the horizon, the former WWE Champion is now tied with John Cena, The Rock and Triple H with three WrestleMania main events in a row. And needless to say, the match was very good with a ton of standout moments.
Furthermore, Strowman standing tall at the end of the show just didn’t cut it.
The former bantamweight champion, who arguably was the biggest game-changer in women’s MMA history, is starting the next phase of her career as a professional wrestler in the WWE. In terms of just the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view alone, it was a great show.
