Samsung Galaxy S8: Eight key features we know so far

March 14 07:15 2017

Samsung Electronics’ next smartphone Galaxy S8 is being promoted through word of mouth among global consumers even before its official launch. Samsung’s updated launcher will likely also stand to differentiate between the Galaxy S8 and older Galaxy devices. The phone boasts an fantastic compact big screen at 5.7 inches but significantly smaller than others with 5.5-inch displays.

However these bigger screens will necessitate a price hike, as reports have claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will purportedly sell for an eye-watering £799 in the United Kingdom and €799 in mainland Europe. But it’s no surprise that Samsung is going all out this year to promote the new flagship phone, because it is critical to the company’s smartphone market share for 2017. The top bezel will have the iris scanner, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, infrared LED transmitter, front-facing camera and the receiver. Under the hood, the smartphones will be powered by the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, making them the first set of smartphones to run the processor.

Samsung Electronics will hold a Galaxy S8 launch event at the Lincoln Center in NY and the London Here East in London on March 29 (local time). These numbers would dwarf Samsung’s current offerings.

Thoughts about the new batch of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus rumors?

And here’s my G6, only looking a little bit bigger than a standard iPhone 7, which is a very petite phone.

Kuo has divulged several rumored details about the iPhone 8 in the recent past, including its OLED display, wireless charging, new edge-to-edge glass design, and special function area with no physical home button.

In a note to investors late last year, Kuo projected that Apple will sell between 120 million and 150 million iPhone 8 units in the second half of next year.

The screenshots were found inside an APK for Samsung’s Smart Switch, an application that helps users move information like contacts, music, photos, and settings from one device to another. According to Kuo, cost and “immature dual-camera ISP design” are two factors that work against it. Both phones will feature four modules on the back panel: a rear camera, flash, fingerprint sensor, and heart rate sensor.
