The Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2016) also support Samsung Pay, Samsung’s mobile payment service and fingerprint verification as well.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 is expected to be announced later this month and could go on sale starting early next year. This would allow users additional navigation options depending on how hard they press or tap on the display. The new feature on the new smartphone’s display will be much akin to Apple’s technology for the iPhone 6s, and might also come with a retina scanner as well.
WSJ report also confirmed that Galaxy S7 will feature a USB Type-C port to charge which drastically improves charging time of the device in many folds. No word about the Galaxy S7 series being waterproof, but we are happy with the low light photography improvements and hopefully being able to get a full days charge in just 30 minutes!
Despite the lack of an official announcement, it does appear as though the Galaxy A9 is a legitimate Samsung offering, and what’s known about its specs and features could make it potentially desirable.
Furthermore, Synaptics is also looking to bring the force-touch function to more than smartphones, as its new ClearPad series controls are also available for PCs, notebooks and automotive applications.
The new phone could include a pressure-sensitive display like the one that powers the “3D Touch” display in the iPhone 6s, according to a new report from the Wall Street Journal. Even the retina scanner that the company is reportedly considering integrating into some versions of the phone follows phones from other manufacturers, like ZTE, that have already integrated the feature.
The roadmap you see above originates from sources in Vietnam, which seem to be familiar with Samsung’s plans concerning the availability of Marshmallow. There are rumors that the new smartphone will launch together with the Galaxy S7 Edge, a premium curved-screen model.
According to Phonearena.com, the pressure sensitive display tech will not be exclusive to any one company so it’s basically a free-for-all kind of technology that anyone can use. The feature enables a user to declare an SD card permanent and the format it just like internal memory.
