Samsung to unveil Galaxy S8 on 29 March

January 29 07:43 2017

The Galaxy S8 will be “significantly different” from previous Samsung flagships, according to a report, which has revealed everything you need to know about the phones, including when they’ll launch.

We are already nearly a month into 2017 and soon it will be that time of the year again when Samsung comes up with its next smartphone in the S series.

After a long list of leaks and rumors finally, a leak came from the popular leakster Evan Blass who literally unveiled nearly all the details of the upcoming Galaxy S8. This will be too late to make it into the S8 before launch.

These are not Galaxy S8 parts. To launch it, however, you’ll need to press a button on the side of the devices. It had been suggested Samsung would utilise new technology to create a security feature embedded into the display, although that now seems unlikely. This could either be one of the rumored variants with a flat display, or maybe a fake render. It will also sport a 30-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, paired with a 9-megapixel front-facing snapper. It is expected that the fingerprint sensor is at the rear adjacent to the camera. The phone comes with two versions, S8 and S8 Plus?, like a year ago and they feature 5.8 and 6.2 inch displays respectively. The Galaxy S8 will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage expandable with a microSD card.

The Galaxy S8 that appears on the picture is said to be the bigger version, which has a 6.2-inch display.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is also expected to draw power from 3000mAh to 3500mAh, but will come with other optimisations to improve on overall usage time. We’re certain that the company is watching their suppliers much closer for the Galaxy S8. Along with a resolution of 12 megapixels, many improvements were made on the camera’s focus. As we previously reported, the S8 series may also feature some interesting AI additions ranging from image and text recognition in-camera to high-end AI assistance, courtesy of Samsung’s acquisition of the AI platform Viv. Also, there won’t be any physical or capacitive buttons on the front. This feature is expected to be similar to Microsoft Window’s Continuum feature. One will feature a 5.8-inch screen, the other a 6.2-inch effort.
