Samsung Unveils Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus With Bezel-Less Display

For now, though, Bixby just controls Samsung’s own apps and some of the S8’s functions.

Samsung introduced their latest phone on Wednesday and they say that it won’t explode in your pocket.

The South Korean tech giant showcased the new phone with a new, sleek design and cutting-edge features not seen in its predecessors such as the Bixby voice assistant.

Samsung is also ready to debut the next version of its Gear 360 camera less than a year after the first one debuted.

The new camera will also feature improvements when it comes to social integration. According to Samsung, what results is “a truly immersive viewing experience without distractions and makes multi-tasking more convenient”. Samsung claims that these features have “defense-grade security that stands guard around the clock“. An user can unlock the phone using iris scans.

Although Samsung claims the device’s use of biometrics is very secure, it might still raise some questions for customers. Samsung India did not comment on locally specific details. “It’s really fantastic to look at and it has some neat new features that they haven’t unveiled before so there is a lot to love about this new phone”.

The phone packs in the Snapdragon 835 processor along with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage, which is expandable up to 256GB. Those were two things rumored to be removed. To allow for the full front of the phone to be a screen, the physical home button was cut and replaced with an invisible home button beneath the screen. Passwords and Pin numbers can still be used the same way as before, along with the fingerprint scanner found on the back of the phone. It’s rumored that Apple is considering doing the same for its new iPhone, coming later this year.

First off, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are virtually identical, except for their screen size (and thus overall surface area).
