Garcia finished three shots clear of Blayne Barber and Justin Thomas who shared 3rd position, further highlighting the separation the pair enjoyed from the rest of the field. – While the search for his next PGA Tour victory continues, Sergio Garcia took his runner-up finish at the Honda Classic in stride.

“That’s a big accomplishment around this golf course – not just one day, but back-to-back”, Fowler said. But I didn’t and that’s the game. He had to birdie the 18th to break 80 (79).

EuropeanLouis Oosthuizen carded a 5-under 67 to take a three-stroke lead after three rounds of the Perth International in Australia. Garcia had a 69 and was two shots behind.

The day before, Scott was leading by three shots when he made a 7 on the hole and lost the lead. He holed a 10-foot eagle putt on the third hole and two-putted for birdie on his final hole for a 65 that left him three shots behind.

“Pretty costly”, Scott said of his quadruple bogey on the par-three 15th hole.

“I gave it my all but unfortunately a couple of bad shots on a couple of hard holes (16 and 17) and I just wasn’t good enough”.

The entire final round of the Honda Classic should have started with a NSFW warning. From the drop zone, Scott fidgeted with where to play, then saw another ball find the water.

Scott ran up a quadruple-bogey seven on the 15th hole, but survived that nightmare to move one step closer to a 12th PGA Tour victory. Phil Mickelson failed to make the Saturday move he wanted to make in the third round, shooting an even-par 70 to stay at 3-over for the tournament.

Bohn said he had been dealing with bronchitis and pneumonia. It was nice to hit some good quality shots coming in.

These things add up, and they tell a lot about the player and how he handles pressure.

“I hung in there as long as I could”, Garcia said. “I scored nicely, I putted well, I chipped quite well but Adam played great, he played better than me”, said Garcia.

Fowler had a similar round to Thursday – no bogeys, a 66, and tough par save on his 10th hole to keep his round going. Get through the final four holes, and he might have made it easy on himself.

“They were playing tough”, Garcia said of the back nine holes.

Garcia, looking for his first Tour title since 2012, trailed by one after a birdie from 6 feet on the 14th but then made bogeys on 16 and 17. “We’ve been working hard because it was a little bit loose, it was slipping a year ago, the consistency wasn’t there”.

Only 19 players remained under par going into the weekend. “I was trying to get a ball dry there and eventually did on my fifth”.

The first two days of the Honda Classic haven’t been too shabby, either.

This week was also a success for Garcia after missing the cut last week.

Oosthuizen, making his first tournament appearance in Australia, had a 54-hole total of 15-under 201 on the Lake Karrinyup Country Club course.

It is his first victory since mid-2014, when he was the No. 1 player in the world, and he has been in a period of transition with the ban on anchoring as well as the birth of his first child. “See what we can do”. – Jason Bohn, who suffered a heart attack after his second round on Friday, remained hospitalized at Palm Beach Medical Center on Saturday.

Bohn, 42, is in stable condition, reports ESPN.
