Seinfeld Selling Some Of His Porsches, Including 550 Spyder

The auction house has dubbed the cars being sold as The Jerry Seinfeld Collection and has said that a “sampling of this exceptional collection” will be showcased at the company’s annual Scottsdale Auctions, which is slated to commence on 27 January.

He also loves Garry Shandling, as evidenced by the heartfelt hug they shared at the beginning of this week’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”. “A Porsche feels like a warm, round pebble in your hand….” Seinfeld has chose to send some of his smiling Porsches back into the world.

But now, he’s thinning the heard, and putting three of the most coveted vintage Porsches in the world up for sale at Gooding & Company’s Amelia Island, Fla., auction in March.

One of only 151 Carrera Speedsters built, this late-production GS/GT was factory-prepared as a competition auto, with lightweight aluminum panels, large GT drum brakes, extended range fuel tank, roll bar, and Porsche’s advanced Type 692/0 four-cam, roller-bearing engine.

And a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 IROC RSR valued at between $1.2 million and $11.5 million. And I still love these cars. Cars from his personal collection are often used in his web series, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee“, and a poster of an airborne 930 was proudly featured in his vaunted NBC sitcom “Seinfeld“, gracing his apartment wall. These RSR race cars earned Porsche a landslide of racing wins in the ’70s, and have cemented the 911’s dominance on track ever since.

The 356 is expected to fetch as much as $2 million. For Seinfeld, that happens in March when a number of cars from his private horde will be offered by Gooding & Company at its auction on Amelia Island, Florida.

These are three incredible cars from what is no doubt and incredible collection.

Still unconvinced? Well, I’m pretty sure you’ll something equally wonderful you can’t afford at Gooding & Company’s ‘upcoming’ lot list. He made $330,000 on the vehicle. Maybe he needs just to make room. Jerry Seinfeld and the Seinfeld set.
