Selfie mystery: Which two are the twins, and which is their mom?

When Kaylan Mahomes tweeted a casual auto selfie, with the caption, “Mom, twin, and me”, the Internet said, “Aww”.

The photo was first posted on January 28 and since then it has been retweeted for over 18,000 times and has received over 29,000 likes. Our minds are truly blown. That seems like a pretty standard thing to do for high schoolers like Mahomes and her sister Kyla Mahomes, but the photo was much more remarkable than your average front-camera pic.

All wearing little-to-no makeup and sleek tresses, the description “Mom, twin and me”, didn’t break down who was who.

This posted video’s caption says, “When your mom thinks it’s a picture … lol #whosthemom?”

Others insisted that a mother would never sit in the backseat, so if Kaylan is on the right in the photo it has to be her mother who is sitting next to her.

Another photo shows the mom to the twin sisters cooking in the kitchen from a different vantage point.

The mother is the woman on the far left, and the twins are the girls to the right.

Mahomes did not answer the question, but the common consensus on Twitter is that the mother is in the middle. Some of those commenting on the photo use interesting logic to determine who’s the mom in the photo.

“Even people who know me think we’re triplets”, she told the paper. They are also giving out clues to help the viewers identify the mother.
