Should Dak Prescott be the face of the Dallas Cowboys?

The Packers were down to three corners in the game. Guys like T.J. Yeldon, Jerick McKinnon, Theo Riddick and Orleans Darkwa aren’t exactly heading to Canton anytime soon and the one guy they faced who could be – Adrian Peterson – was ineffective this season even before he left the game against the Packers due to injury.

While the debate continues on who deserves to be the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, he may have just gotten one over veteran Tony Romo. He broke Tom Brady’s record for most completions with an interception to start a career and stretched that streak to 176 passes.

Church picked off the ball against Washington in Week 2 in a very similar fashion, releasing from his initial read, then reading quarterback Kirk Cousins’ eyes and drifting underneath a crossing route run by receiver Pierre Garcon. He ended up completing 66 percent of his passes for three touchdowns in the game. The team should be built around Elliott, a team built around that of the offensive line and Elliott with Prescott handling the major team issues is an absolutely ideal situation.

Elliott finished with 157 yards on 28 carries.

Perhaps most importantly, Dallas’ defense has been better than expected. Maybe it’s the play calling, or maybe it’s Aaron Rodgers beginning his decline way earlier than anyone thought it was going to happen. The Dallas Cowboys defense did more than just stop Aaron Rodgers. In all, the Packers turned it over four times.

Elliott also showed a great deal of agility and elusiveness, making it hard to get a bead on him once he passed the line of scrimmage.

The defense, who is always the Achilles heel of this team, stepped up big in this game.

McCarthy said he was impressed with his rookie.

The offense is scoring at a low average of 22.8 points per game.

Dallas didn’t make any costly mistakes on special teams. “That’s why we can run the ball”. He went a ideal three-for-three on field goals in the game and hit all three extra points. 9 in passing yards per game (ranked 25th). The Cowboys rushed for 93 yards in the first half against the Packers, which was already a season high against Green Bay. The good news for him is that the Packers play the Chicago Bears next. Once the rookie plays like a rookie, Dallas’ front office and coaching staff will have a metaphorical red carpet to bring Romo back on a white horse in order to save their season.

The ongoing topic that has garnered massive national media speculation and analysis, including Fox commentator and former Cowboys Legend Troy Aikman saying he believes the job is Prescott’s.

Prescott has said the right thing with his suggestion the Cowboys are “Tony’s team“. The Cowboys next game is against their division rival Philadelphia Eagles.
