Showers still possible in the north valley

October 17 23:35 2016

You can see on the image below that the placement of the high will allow warm air from the southeast to lift north to our region. Sunday was only one degree away from hitting the record and highs will be dangerously close to breaking records this week.

After a cold start this morning temperatures are on the rise to the more seasonable upper 60s with mostly sunny skies this afternoon.

We will likely tie or break the afternoon temperature record on Tuesday!

A low level jet will interact with the front by Wednesday morning, likely triggering some shower and thunderstorm activity. The normal high today is 59 degrees.

The record for Tuesday is 84 degrees, set in 1953. It will also be very warm as highs reach the lower 80s.

Winds up around 30,000 feet. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday Areas of fog before 9am.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 71. A roughly 10-mile-per-hour wind is expected to last throughout the day with gusts as high as 23 miles per hour. Showers will move through the state from north to south Sunday night and early Monday. Northeast winds 5 to 15 miles per hour.

Wednesday Areas of fog before 8am.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 62. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Chance of rain 50%.
