The 127th Tournament of Roses Parade Live in Pasadena, Calif., will air on several networks, including ABC, NBC, HGTV, as well as Los Angeles station KTLA5.

Yes, the annual Rose Parade in Pasadena is a fun New Year’s tradition for those out there who are sober enough from the night before to watch. Sure, this was a lengthy advertisement for a theme park, but it’s the new year!

According to Mark Selby, deputy special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations in Los Angeles and the federal coordinator for the Rose Parade and Bowl security, security plans involved “an unprecedented volume of resources and technologies”.

Police Lt. Kelly Evans says the crash happened around 5:30 a.m. Friday along a stretch of Colorado Boulevard closed to vehicle traffic for the parade.

Authorities said the parade would be held under unprecedented security, although there were no known threats.

Security was enhanced Friday during the 127th Rose Parade, which is an annual New Year’s Day celebration held in Pasadena. The 5½-mile route will take place over two hours and will feature dozens of floats and 20 marching bands led by documentary filmmaker Ken Burns as the Grand Marshall.

Arrests so far at the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl are up slightly over the seven people detained previous year, when a group of protestors were accused of attempting to interfere with the Rose Parade.

Mr Pate said he had paid for anti-Trump messages at the recent Cotton Bowl, Sugar Bowl and Orange Bowl college football games. Pasadena officials tightened security and promised “increased visible and non-visible enhanced security measures” along the nine-kilometer parade route.

A losing record didn’t stop the Los Angeles Lakers from entering a float titled “Every Second is an Adventure”, ridden by team legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Paula Abdul, a former member of the Laker Girls dance squad.

He said safety concerns came up during the church’s organizational meetings, but Pasadena officials assured them security would be tight. Sure, it is extremely over the top, but did you really think that we were going to get something different for a float celebrating this show?
