Sportscaster Erin Andrews says career has thrived

The defense has taken over in Erin Andrews’ civil suit, but the sportscaster’s testimony has had a significant impact on the course of the case, legal experts say. “And we’re never going to get it off”, she testified.

Barth’s testimony is largely opposite of that of Fred Del Marva, another hotel security expert who testified for Andrews’ case. The hotel is a franchise and was owned by West End Hotel Partners and managed by Windsor Capital Group when the video was shot at the hotel in September 2008.

Barrett, who traveled extensively in his former job, admitted that he had also taken nude videos of about 10 other women in hotels and posted the footage online.

Peskind is a representative of the corporation that owns the hotel, which Andrews is suing, along with convicted stalker, Michael David Barrett, for $75 million.

Through tears, Andrews recounted both the discovery of the video and the way ESPN required her to perform image rehabilitation.

For her part, Andrews agreed when the defense attorney said Tuesday that her income has “gone up substantially” since the release of the video.

They have tried to make the case that the companies could not have reasonably foreseen that someone would be able to alter a peephole on a door, and then shoot video of a guest inside the room.

Andrews said she has thrown herself into her career just to feel normal but remains anxious and depressed.

“Everybody put up that I was doing it for publicity and attention and that ripped me apart”, she said in tears.

But testimony from Dr. Kim Brown of Vanderbilt said Andrews is managing fairly well despite what happened. He said he asked them to stop but they did not do so as fast as he wanted.

She told the jury that she had become so cautious that she checks for hidden cameras in hotel air conditioners and changes rooms fearful of being recorded. In fact, Patrick Donaher, who was senior director of talent, planning and development for the network while Andrews was there, said she did a good job covering games and improved before she left for Fox in 2012.

Andrews blames the hotel for allowing the secret taping to happen.
