‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ working title revealed; ‘Force Awakens’ comics adaptation announced

February 22 04:13 2016

Star Wars: Episode VIII is written and directed by Rian Johnson.

Obviously, that won’t be the case as working titles such as this are used all the time and unfortunately rarely have anything to do with the actual plot of the movie.

The curiosity surrounding Star Wars 8 is only increasing with each passing day, though the movie is nearly two years away from the theatres. The Phantom Menace hinted at a sinister force lurking beneath the surface of the galactic republic, A New Hope represented the discovery Luke Skywalker and the commencement of his journey, and The Force Awakens points to the seismic shifts in the Force caused by Reys discovery of Luke.

The film studio is so desperate to ensure details of the upcoming motion picture are kept undisclosed following the success of “Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens” they are enlisting drones to target “invading” cameras.

Cast members Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega will return for Episode VIII, along with the introduction of Benicio Del Toro (Traffic, Sin City) and Laura Dern (Jurassic Park, Wild).

Carrie Fisher has begun filming Star Wars: Episode VIII, and to prove it she shared a snap of her adorable pet dog, Gary Fisher, lounging on her official chair at Pinewood Studios. The characters in the comics will resemble the actors who play the roles in the movie. He said, “As far as I’m concerned when JJ [Abrams] sat us down to go through the script, it was a bromance”. Either way, we all are already excited to see Episode VIII, but we’ll have to wait until December 15, 2017 (theatrical release).
