In the viral video, Martinez is seen handing her card to the cashier at the Starbucks in the 17200 block of Lakewood Boulevard.
After Becerra pulled up to the drive-thru window, the cashier greeted her and handed her the order along with her credit card. She says, “You come to Starbucks to get coffee, not to get robbed“.
“I’m sorry that I took money from you and your kids”, the young cashier says. I’m sorry that this is inconvenient for you”, the girl said, adding: “I’m so sorry, ma’am.
According to Martinez, the Starbucks cashier told Martinez that she needed new receipt paper on January 1 and then took Martinez’s card number down.
The cashier desperately asked her not to press charges and offered to give her the money back.
Elizabeth Becerra posted a video on YouTube of her “getting even” with the young woman who made a copy of her credit card on New Year’s Day and used it to purchase groceries.
As Martinez chewed out the worker, she said that the Ralph’s store in the 20100 block of Pioneer Boulevard caught the employee on camera using the card’s information.
She tells the woman that the shopping trip was recorded and that she has not only informed the police but the corporate headquarters of Starbucks.
The nervous Starbucks employee first tries playing dumb, but then immediately fesses up to her coffee shop con, apologizing profusely.
During the confrontation, Martinez can be heard saying, “You know what you did!” That’s exactly what happened to a California woman when she ordered from Starbucks recently.
‘I am a good child. Instead of simply calling the police and alerting the Starbucks mothership to get this person fired, the victim performed her own act of 21st-century street justice.
Espinoza wrote on Facebook that his sister noticed that her credit card was charged over $200 for a trip to the grocery store that she never took.
The video ends abruptly, but it’s safe to imagine that things did not end well for the thief. She didn’t want to accuse anyone until she knew for sure.
