March 31 21:26 2016

The department initially said Friday that two Americans had died in the attacks.

Justin Shults had worked for Clarcor, in Franklin, Tennessee, as part of its global finance team since May, 2012, according to the company’s website. The president offered his condolences Sunday afternoon, and praised Justin and Stephanie Shults, referring to them as the epitome of all that was good about America.

Two Americans have been identified as Stephanie and Justin Shults who were from Tennessee and living in Brussels.

“I could not have been more proud of the man that he was”, Shults’ cousin, Ashley Shults Carr, said in a phone interview with The Tennessean.

Families of both rushed to Europe to try to aide in the search, Newsom said.

The family of Justin Shults told Channel 4 his mother confirmed Justin’s body at a Brussels hospital early Saturday morning.

On Wednesday, the family received incorrect information regarding the couple’s whereabouts.

The State Department has declined to name any of the four people killed in the Brussels attacks, citing respect for their families. He was smart and kind and generous.

Their families traveled to Belgium in hopes of finding them.

“She never had a negative opinion of anyone”, Betty Newsom told WKYT.

“I was waiting in line to check in, and she was sitting in the seats with her husband waiting for me to finish…” If there was a problem with friends, or with family, she was always the one just making peace. “I think if there were more people like Stephanie and Justin, then there wouldn’t be this evil in the world”.
