But emails between state employees that same month suggest that they were personally anxious about the water quality.
As the water crisis in Flint shows no signs of coming to an end anytime soon, one thing is clear – not one government official has yet to be held accountable for causing it. But by then, it was too late: Water pipes around the city and in-and-out of homes had been badly damaged.
Flint has reconnected to Detroit’s system for now. She said people with levels over 150 ppb are being notified and their water being retested.

A notice from the city last January cautioned those with “a severely compromised immune system, [who] have an infant or are elderly” to seek medical advice about the drinking water, but said there was otherwise no need to take action. “The coolers will arrive today and will be provided as long as the public water does not meet treatment requirements”, the notice said.
Several committee Democrats, including Rep. Brenda Lawrence of Southfield, have criticized Snyder’s exclusion from Wednesday’s hearing. Without the extension, the official emergency there would have expired on Monday. He said he didn’t know if workers promoted that it was available. A health department audit of Detroit’s schools, which is now led by one of the emergency managers who switched Flint over to corrosive water, shows Detroit’s kids are being exposed to rats and mold and cold temperatures at school.

An activist group has filed a lawsuit calling on Flint, Michigan, to replace all the lead pipes in its water system. This came after Flint had failed drinking water standards above and beyond the lead poisoning.
“We’ve not yet made that decision”, Stabenow said. She says she yelled “How was your water?”
Flint resident Quincy Murphy wants to recall Snyder for “failing to protect the health and safety” of the citizens of Flint.
In January 2015, while cries from residents of Flint, Mich., that something was wrong with the tap water went ignored, state officials made provisions to have watercoolers installed at the State Office Building in Flint.
Snyder claims the two dark money funds – and a predecessor called “the NERD fund” that he shut down under pressure before he faced reelection in 2014 – allow him to “transform Michigan” without drawing on the limited resources of the state.
Flint residents have been told to drink only filtered or bottled water because of lead contamination in the city’s supply.
