Stephen A. Smith apologizes to Durant’s mother after Warriors win title

Kevin Durant came to Golden State looking for a championship and found a band of brothers who, as it turned out, were exactly what he needed to finally capture that long-sought title.

Something just doesn’t feel right. I broke down so I couldn’t really finish my speech.

“Brown will get all the money guaranteed him, with the amount he’s paid as part of his Golden State Warriors contract being deducted, and the Cavs pay the balance”, Windhorst wrote after Game 1.

“I credit our guys”. I’d be honored to welcome the team to the U.S. Capitol. Surely such a problem wouldn’t arise with LeBron James, whom Barry backed last week in calling a radio host a “loser” for criticizing LBJ.

Not only did they match it, Curry and Durant swept the Western Conference playoffs, sweeping Portland, Utah, and 61 win San Antonio 4-0 4-0 4-0.

With the addition of Durant, the Warriors found enough ammunition to hold off James.

Cleveland battled back to keep the score close heading into the fourth quarter, but Golden State proved to be too much down the stretch.

The Cavaliers would push and hustle and trust LeBron to deliver them.

Still, if Durant were giving out the award, he might actually give it to someone who’s never logged a minute in the National Basketball Association.

With him, they were just about unbeatable.

Initially, Smith had no intention of apologizing for calling Durant’s move to Golden State weak. Ever. More telling was that anytime James went to the bench for a very brief time during this series, the Warriors would go on a big run.

And then Kevin Durant or Steph Curry or Klay Thompson or Dramond Green or Andre Iguodala would hit a shot that, regardless of the degree of difficulty, looked easy.

It just wasn’t fair to be able to add another NBA MVP to that list.

Throughout these years it seemed that Durant wants a championship ring not because of himself, but as a gift to his mother and all the sacrifices that she made in order to provide a future for her son. “I put in the work individually, in the film room, in my mind, my body every, single day to prepare myself for whatever obstacle that this ball club entails”.
