Survivors of the Florida school shooting descended on the state’s Capitol on Wednesday and had one overarching message: It’s time for action.

If there are students who dont want to return to Stoneman Douglas High, the district will help them transfer to another public school, Runcie said.
At a Stoneman Douglas High staff meeting held last week at a Parkland municipal building, teachers said they wanted to get back into the classroom as soon as possible so they could be reunited with their students and colleagues, Runcie said. Sen. Marco Rubio: “People buy into my agenda”.
“Why do we have to speak out at the (state) Capitol? We’re asking to help save student lives”, he said.
“There are questions like, what do I do, do I have to wait for you, and you’re like, no you run, you save yourself”, said Cohen. So this is to every lawmaker out there: No longer can you take money from the NRA.
Mills claimed that the answer to this controversial political pickle was for students to inform the government of the reality that high school students will be able to vote soon, and these catastrophes will not be forgotten along with the memory of lawmakers not taking a stance against gun violence with the implementation of stricter gun laws.

Avery Anger, 14, hid in a closet during the shooting.
“It was more of a debate than a discussion”, she said. “And I’m pissed! Because my daughter, I’m not going to see again”.

The president promised to be “very strong on background checks”, adding that “we’re going to do plenty of other things”. But they were disappointed by the lack of commitment. If we wait, then someone else might become a victim too.
Stoneman Douglas’ school resource office was carrying a weapon when the shooting happened last week, but did not discharge his firearm.
