Subaru has teased its exhibition outline of Tokyo Auto Salon 2016 revealing that it will be showing off its “STI Performance Concept“, the “Levorg STI Concept” and “Subaru XV Hybrid STI Concept”.
The second surprise from Subaru is the “WR Blue Pearl” colored Levorg STI Concept that features exclusive front fascia with STI-designed 18-inch aluminum wheels. The concept vehicle showcases the Subaru XV’s casual and active nature but STI has further enhanced its sporty characteristic. The concept cars were developed by Subaru’s performance division, Subaru Technica International (STI). The show will take place at the Makuhari Messe convention centre in Chiba prefecture, Japan from January 15 to 17, 2016. At the Tokyo Auto Salon, the automaker will also display the XV Hybrid STI Concept with orange-colored accents on “Quarts White Silica” exterior color and with orange and beige interior accents.
The STI Performance is powered by Subaru’s 2.0 liter four-cylinder petrol engine, much like the regular BRZ, but fans will be pleased to learn the carmaker has added a turbocharger. By employing exclusive STI-tuned dampers, superb ride quality, stability and exhilarating handling performance have been delivered. These include a WRX STI NBR Challenge 2016 – a racing auto that will be heading to the 2016 24 Hours Nurburgring Endurance race, a Super GT Subaru BRZ GT300 2016 and a specially-prepped WRX STI for the Japan Rally Championship.
Subaru will hold a press conference on January 15 to unveil the cars and to introduce the company’s 2016 Motorsport activities. Subaru hasn’t said what other tuning parts it will get, saying just that it will employ “STI sports parts”, which will ensure a “superb ride quality and stability”.
