Ted Cruz begins New Hampshire push amid Trump drama

January 19 20:03 2016

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz launched one of his toughest attacks yet against fellow contender Donald Trump in New Hampshire Monday night, accusing the billionaire real estate developer of being “nowhere to be found” during during the debate in Congress over whether to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants.

The Trump team’s attack comes as hostility between its camp and the Cruz campaign is at an all-time high. While Trump has claimed that the 40th president’s views shifted over time, too, Cruz said, “Ronald Reagan did not spend the first 60 years of his life supporting Democratic politicians, advocating for big-government policies, supporting things like the TARP big bank bailout, supporting things like expanding Obamacare to turn it into socialized medicine”.

Joking as he introduced Laudner, Trump said, “If he doesn’t do good – Chuck you are fired”.

“I think it was a very, very ill-advised thing for Ted to say”, Christie said.

Mr Cruz said he wouldn’t engage in a “cage match” with Mr Trump, tweeting that the New Yorker was “terrific”. “In the rest of America, people know exactly what that means”.

The two men are locked in a neck-and-neck race, and the strain is showing, with Mr. Trump resorting to name-calling and Mr. Cruz implying that his rival is a closet Democrat. Let’s go, okay.’ But he’s a nasty guy. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is eligible to be president.

Both Cruz and Trump were campaigning on Monday in New Hampshire, which holds the second contest in the country’s primary season. “They start with celebrating our diversity, taking care of each other, and working to make NY a fairer city for all of our citizens”. But with his poll numbers rising in New Hampshire, Cruz is banking on the bus tour to give him a boost. “I think it’s sometimes just a ploy to get us to buy into what they’re saying”. Marco Rubio, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, former Florida governor Jeb Bush and others.

Cruz had taken his shot against Tump’s “New York values” during last week’s debate and missed, incurring successful return fire in the form of a reference by Trump to New Yorkers’ heroism on September 11, 2001. Trump loves Cruz. Trump loves Cruz not. That could benefit Hillary Clinton.

Now, after a few days of soul searching and passive-aggressive sniping, the Trump-Cruz bromance is officially over.

“He’s a very – he’s got an edge that’s not good”. They were very confused: ‘Well, what are these NY values of which you speak?’ ” Cruz said. “We will protect the Freedoms of individuals and welcome any one or any company to Alabama to discover as so many have, that we are a pro-business state filled with good, hardworking people”.

“At the end of the day the American people will decide who is telling the truth, who is, in fact, been a consistent conservative, not who has adopted conservative language on the campaign trails, but who has walked the walk”, Cruz said. “I’m a Christian. I’m a Presbyterian”, he said last month.
