Thomas, Olynyk power Celtics past Wizards in Game 7

Central (8 p.m. Eastern).

The best-of-7 series begins Wednesday.

The smallest player on the court came up biggest when his team needed it most, and the gangliest player on the court had the playoff game of his career. Bradley told the Boston Globe that the Celtics are looking forward to facing the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

“We don’t care about what others say”. I think Thomas and the Celtics continue that dominance tonight and cover the 5 points. The Celtics bench had just 5 points in Game 6. Morris has been the enforcer of this team all season, and he had some big moments in Game 7. The Celtics led for most of the period. In fact, the Wizards have not won a game in Boston since April of 2014. All 10 meetings this season have been won by the home team. In the end, the Celtics were able to defeat the Wizards and are now one win away from a date with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

We have seen that each game in this series has been decided by what Thomas does. Washington’s starters played well and the Wizards led much of the third, but late in the third the bench came in – Smith blew a defensive coverage within seconds of entering the game – and Boston closed the quarter on a 13-3 run to lead 85-79 after three.

The Celtics and Wizards meet tonight in only the second game seven of these National Basketball Association playoffs, and judging by the trends, the game is already over. The Washington Wizards are averaging 108.3 points on 45.8 percent shooting and allowing 107.5 points on 45.3 percent shooting. They’re easier to prepare because it’s kind of you have to go out there and give it everything you have.

As Wizards center Marcin Gortat said, “we tried to figure out this thing in the game really quick, but (Olynyk) just made shots”. “They closers. They proven closers”. Ever since that game, Thomas has only gotten over 20 points once.

Pierce’s advice was ringing in his ears on Sunday.

Wizards: Dropped to 6-4 all-time in Game 7s. Boston is 60-34 overall, 34-13 at home and 48-44-2 against the spread.

What a marvelous performance by Bradley Beal.

In the third quarter, the Wizards continued their nice shooting streak. Bojan Bogdanovic was the only Wizards reserve to score, and he was a minus-19 in 16 minutes.

Washington Wizards guard John Wall shoots the ball past Boston Celtics guard Avery Bradley in the playoff match in Boston.

But Game 6 was merely delaying the inevitable. The Celtics will need him to have a big night to stunt Washington’s momentum.

This game comes down to which side can sustain pressure and not succumb to “Game 7 demons” when they face off for the right to take on Cleveland in the Western playoffs.
