The network released a promo previewing what’s to come from their original shows in 2016 and the video features the first shown footage of Season 6.
Given that we are still more than four months away from “Game of Thrones” coming on the air, we know that HBO is not in all that much of a hurry to release some of the latest footage from the show. In the Thrones clips, we see a bit of Daenerys, a shot of short-hair Cersei giving Tommen a rare motherly hug, and a shot of Ramsay Bolton grimly leading his men.
While last week’s snippet used remnants of the show’s bloody past to tease what will no doubt be an equally bloody future, HBO has today peeled back the curtain on our first glimpse of Game of Thrones season 6.
Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) is seen too, and judging by the green field background, the clip might have been taken from where we left our Mother of Dragons, surrounded by Dothraki riders.
Recent weeks have seen the reveal of a poster and a teaser trailer which stoked up the is-he-or-isn’t-he debate about Jon Snow once again. The video clip was narrated by two notable voices – the three-eyed Raven (Max von Sydow) and Bran Stark who was initially sidelined in the entire season 5.
This HBO 2016 trailer also offers up a sneak peek at other returning series, and all-new programing. The new “Game of Thrones” footage starts around 2:15.
The flashback of the past seasons follows and that includes the famous death scene of Jon Snow (Kit Harrington).
Kit’s character was pronounced dead at the end of the fifth season, where he was stabbed by Night’s watch members.
“Let’s just say that Game of Thrones will remain a part of my life for a while.” said Harington in a statement back in September. It is assumed that she works some of her magic and resurrects Jon Snow as she did for Beric Dondarrion.
The post was briefly captioned “April” in reference to the official airing of “Game of Thrones” season 6.
