Al Gore will campaign for Hillary Clinton.
Trump has yet to personally disavow his original all-Muslim ban and his campaign website still features the proposal.
An estimated 37 million Americans watched the US vice presidential debate between Republican Mike Pence and Democrat Tim Kaine on television, according to Nielsen data on Wednesday, less than half the number who tuned in to Donald Trump’s first matchup with Hillary Clinton last week. He said Pence didn’t do it.
In Western Massachusetts, almost two-thirds of likely voters, or 64 percent, said they would cast ballots for Clinton in a four-way matchup with Trump, Johnson and Stein, according to poll results.
But Trump isn’t upset.
Republicans have spent the time following the debate criticizing Kaine’s scrappy demeanor, but the lasting impact from the debate isn’t the style of either of the candidates – it’s the repeated lies by Trump running mate Mike Pence.
The consensus among analysts is that Pence, the Republican governor of IN, won on style – despite lying about past comments.
Even Clinton’s team wasn’t claiming that Kaine had come out on top, despite the chest-puffing that usually follows a political debate.
“Really, voters will make up their minds on Clinton v Trump, not Kaine v Pence“, said Smith. Sanchez was joined on the press call by Democratic Caucus Chairman Xavier Becerra and Rep. Ruben Gallego.
There’s only one remedy that will give the reality-star-turned-meglomaniac-presidential-candidate a fighting chance to turn things around-and it will require an out-of-body experience. Well, except perhaps for Pence’s deathless comment about “whipping out that Mexican thing” again, which social media has turned into a rallying cry for Hispanics. Marco Rubio, who also ran unsuccessfully for the 2016 nomination, earned 11 percent support. Kaine said. “I think that’s going to work on his head a little bit as he goes into prepping for the really important debate on Sunday”.
Sunday night’s debate was the culmination of a stunning stretch in the race for the White House, which began with the release of a new video in which Trump is heard bragging about how his fame allowed him to “do anything” to women.
And, so it is, the real debate isn’t Trump vs. Clinton; it’s Donald Trump vs. Donald Trump. This puts Clinton among the ranks of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Lyndon B. Johnson.
Donald Trump needed that debate and Pence’s cool demeanor to offset his loose lip remarks that have plagued his campaign.
A running mate’s usual task in a debate, and in a presidential campaign generally, is to assure the public that he or she could take over if the unthinkable occurs. Palin wrote on her Facebook page. He likely won the debate on points, helped by a canned and sometimes shrill Kaine. Unlike Cruz, Pence didn’t desert the party’s nominee (though Cruz came slinking back last week and finally endorsed Trump). However, some Republican political advisers still view Trump’s unpredictability and a frustrated electorate as concerns.
“Kaine was far more the litigator than we’ve ever seen in his political career”, Robert Holsworth, a political analyst formerly at Virginia Commonwealth University, said of the USA senator from Virginia.
But what does the debate tell us about the future of both parties? Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania refused to say whether he supports Trump’s candidacy Tuesday, but did answer the role model question. Ted Cruz in the GOP presidential primary, he cited Cruz’s “knowledge of the Constitution”.
“I just have to tell you that the provocations by Russian Federation need to be met with American strength”, the IN governor said.
“The creepy clown walking around Green Bay would beat Hillary Clinton in 30 states”, said one Nevada Republican.
“My advice to Donald Trump is regardless of the attacks, and I think you will see vicious and outlandish attacks, ignore them and focus on the issues that Americans care about”, Brandstad said.
“Donald Trump has. talked about putting the security of the American people first”.
Eric Trump on father’s taxes: After Tuesday’s vice presidential debate, Eric Trump said his father has “absolutely” paid federal income taxes in recent decades, reports The Washington Post.
Questioned about his “presidential look” comment by moderator Lester Holt, Trump doubled down.
